Our chapter was formed in 2000, based on a grassroots initiative of Human Resources professionals in the area to create a resource for professional development and networking in Eastern Connecticut.

Over the years, HRLA has become a thriving organization.  Our members represent a diverse range of job titles and industries from all over Connecticut and Rhode Island.  We are very proud to be a three-year recipient of the SHRM Superior Merit Award, and work hard to maintain a quality of excellence within our chapter.

CODE OF ETHICS


Members of the Human Resource Leadership Association of Eastern Connecticut  strive for personal growth in their chosen career field and commit themselves to observe the following ethical practices:

  • To respect the dignity of the individual as one of the essential elements of success in any enterprise.
  • To demonstrate and promote a spirit of cooperative effort between owners, employees, and the general public, directly or indirectly connected with the enterprise.
  • To advance those ethical employee relations concepts in human resource administration and labor relations which contribute to the objectives of the enterprise.
  • To reveal the facts in any situation where my private interests are in conflict with those of my employer or other principals.
  • To not permit considerations of religion, nationality, race, sex, age, political affiliations, or social standing to influence my professional activities.
  • To strive to attain and demonstrate a professional level of knowledge within the body of knowledge comprising the management field.
  • To encourage and participate in research and advance new and improved management methods, skills and practices, sharing the productive results of such research with others.
  • To never use the Association or its membership for purposes other than those for which they were designed.
