Benefits Manager – Greater Hartford Area

Responsibility for multi-state Benefits strategies, reporting, and administration, as well as HRIS and ATS effectiveness. 
 
“Success” in this firm, means you will leverage your proven expertise with:
  • Consulting to managers and employees on full range of benefits administration while acting as employee advocate to resolve issues with insurers;
  • Researching and recommending shifts in benefits strategies and carriers, leveraging talent acquisition and engagement, efficiency, and cost;
  • Timely and accurate benefits reporting and compliance;
  • Effective research, selection and oversight of 3rd party benefits brokers and administrators;
  • Scaling, leveraging, and overseeing HRIS and ATS systems.
 
Desired candidates possess:
  • Bachelors in HR or the equivalent; MBA, Masters in Finance or HR a strong plus.
  • More than six years of in-depth, innovative benefits strategies, reporting, and administration experience, including 3 years as strategist.
  • Professional Certification (including one or more of CEBS, CBP, PHR, SPHR, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational communications expertise.
  • Solid MS Office, HRIS, and ATS expertise, including system implementation experience.

Bristol Hospital a leading provider of healthcare services to the 60,000 residents of the city of Bristol, Connecticut, and surrounding communities is seeking a Director, Human Resources.  This is an opportunity to be truly involved in any and all human resources areas, within a highly visible position. 
 
Bristol Hospital and Health Care Group consists of Bristol Hospital, a 134-bed private, not-for-profit community hospital; Central Connecticut Medical Management, a managed services organization including Greater Bristol Primary Care Group P.C.; Bristol Psychiatry, P.C.; Bristol Hospital EMS, LLC; Ingraham Manor, a 128-bed, short-term rehabilitation and long-term care facility, and the Bristol Hospital Development Foundation. 
 
The Director Human Resources is responsible for all areas of HR generalist administration across all business units within Bristol Hospital and Health Care Group and reports to the VP Human Resources and Support Services.  This professional will also proactively review and recommend changes in HR practices, programs and initiatives, maintain compliance with federal and state employment regulations, and provide a full range of assistance and service in the functional areas of Human Resources to support and enhance the organizational goals.
 
The ideal candidate will have7 - 10 years of increasingly responsible experience, with an in-depth knowledge of HR practices and principles, not necessarily within healthcare.  A bachelor’s degree and SPHR or PHR certification is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
