Ledyard Public Schools is seeking an efficient and knowledgeable Human Resources Coordinator. The coordinator applies knowledge of HR functions and performs a variety of HR administrative duties, including recruiting, benefits administration, FMLA management and training, in support of the District’s goals.
Responsibilities: Facilitates human resources process for all employees and retirees.
Administers benefits plans including group health, flexible spending, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 403(b) and 457 plans and conducts annual benefits enrollment.
Responds to employee and retiree requests and resolves benefits-related issues in support of positive employee relations.
Oversees and administers leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly those arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state and local leave laws, and long-term disability plans.
Partners with payroll to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
Advises administrators and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits; effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications.
Facilitate reasonable accommodation requests in compliance with ADA.
Maintains complete and accurate employee records and preserves confidentiality of information.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews practices to maintain compliance.
Administrative support as needed including record keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures; maintains knowledge of HR trends and best practices.
Knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Working knowledge of MUNIS or a similar database.
Proficient with G Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.
Two years of HR generalist or HR administration experience
Proficiency with HRIS software preferred. This position requires proof of Covid 19 vaccination per Governor Lamont’s Executive Order 13G.
Pay and Benefits:
Starting at $50,000 annually
Benefits per Ledyard Standard Benefits Package for Non-Union Staff to include;
Paid sick time
Medical coverage is available
403(b)/457 retirement plan
