Job Title: Director of Human Resources

FLSA Classification: Exempt (Salary) – Administrative

Salary Range: $80,000 – $95,000 per annum

Reports to: General Manager

Job Description

Summary: The human resource director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function(s); employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, training, Federal & State compliance, reporting, compensation management, performance reviews, recruiting/hiring/onboarding.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervises staff, with direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, training, motivation, wage and salary administration, performance appraisal, and policy and procedure development.
To lead and create a team environment which promotes good associate morale and ensures a high level of commitment and pride at Saybrook Point Resort and Marina
To ensure effective communication with the team by holding regular briefing sessions and attending all management meetings.
Develop the department Training Plan to meet the Resort’s business objectives and develop team members.

Education and Years of Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following requiredBachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management
Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Management with a concentration in HR
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in one of the followings:Human resources
Organizational behavior
Management and leadership
Industrial relations
Master’s Degree in one of the following preferred;Master of Arts/Master of Science in Human Resource Management
Master of Arts/Master of Science in Management with an HR concentration
Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in:Human Resource Management/Organizational Leadership
Leadership Development
Human Capital Development
Organizational Behavior
Labor Relations
Industrial Relations
Professional Certificate preferred (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SP)
Four years of management experience with a concentration in hospitality preferred
Experience with Paycom software preferred

Perform all other duties as assigned by Management.
Fully aware of and comply with Inn’s policies and procedures as identified in the procedure manual and handbook.
Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Working Conductions:

Working conditions are based in a hospitality setting.
Associates may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
Noise level in work environment is usually moderate.
Work authorization/security clearance requirements

Saybrook Point Resort & Marina requires all newly hired employees to provide documentation that they are legally authorized to work in the United States.
