We have an exciting opportunity for two (2) Human Resources Generalist 2’s to join the Staffing Unit to support Hazardous and Non Hazardous Duty positions for the agency. The DOC is an agency of over 6,000 employees, many of them working in Hazardous Duty classifications that bring unique stressors and challenges. The Staffing Team members support this 24/7 Operation of the DOC and understand the critical role we fill.

Hours: First Shift/Full-time 40 hours per week position; Monday through Friday.
Location: The work location is DOC Central office in Wethersfield, CT however, candidate must be able to travel to DOC facilities throughout the State of CT.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Seven (7) years professional experience in human resources management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of the General Experience must have been at the junior working level in human resources management.
For state employees, this is interpreted at the level of Human Resources Generalist 1 or Human Resources Associate.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
1. College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor’s degree.
2. A Master’s degree in human resources management, labor relations, business administration, public administration or other closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
Experience conducting full cycle recruitment and onboarding in an organization of 1000+ employees.
Experience meeting deadlines while working against competing priorities.
Experience ensuring compliance with Affirmative Action and EEO principles, policies, regulations and statutes.
Experience with interpreting collective bargaining contracts, statutes and regulations as they relate to staffing.
Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office including Excel, Word.
