The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) is seeking a part-time human resources assistant to process special payroll, HR, and other related transactions.
The OVPR HR Assistant will be responsible for independently submitting and monitoring special payroll hire and data change requests, preparing special payroll offer letters for review; entering account information for approved transactions into the university payroll system; monitoring deadlines and timely processing of extensions. The OVPR HR Assistant will also process routine employment separations and supervisor updates, assist with the placement of recruitment advertisements, update the OVPR Careers website, maintain records for all activities, and other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum requirements for this position include a bachelor’s degree and 1 or more years of experience recordkeeping and timely processing transactions, preferably in an enterprise system, such as PeopleSoft, Core-CT, PageUp or other/recruitment HRM system. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the exercise of confidentiality and discretion are required for this position. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required for this position.
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and prior experience processing human resources transactions is preferred.
This is anticipated to be a 5-15 hour-per week 6-month appointment, with the possibility of an extension. The targeted hourly rate is $18-$23, commensurate with experience. A standardized schedule falling between the core operating hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm weekdays is planned.
