CTBGH November 3, 2016 General Membership Meeting

Amy Gendron 0

Our November 3 CTBGH general membership meeting will take a fresh look at what employers can do to support  employees and dependents with chronic and complex health conditions.  Medical cost and productivity savings can be realized if members are:

  • More effectively navigating the health care  system
  • Optimizing their benefit plans
  • Making smarter medical decisions and adopting healthy  behaviors

Representatives from three very different organizations will provide us with insight into what they are doing to help members realize better care and the outcomes they have achieved.

Meeting Agenda

  • CTBGH Update – Hugh Penney, Sr. Director, Compensation & Benefits, Yale University
  • Connecticut Value Based Insurance Design Initiative Update – Sandra Czunas, State of CT Comptroller’s Office
  • Vendor Briefings – Greg Funk, HR Leader, Bridgewater Associates
  • Each of our guests will have 20 minutes to introduce their company, the problem they are focused on solving, the innovative approaches they are using and the outcomes they are achieving.  Presentations will focus on educating the audience on how healthcare providers are helping consumers manage chronic and complex health conditions and their overall well-being.  Individual presentations will be followed by a panel discussion facilitated by Greg.
    • Quantum Health– Steven Knight, SVP of Member Engagement.  Quantum Health is a leading care coordination and consumer navigation company.   We coordinate care by working with the member and their physician. We help each member navigate their benefits plan to get the best care, at the right time.
    • TrestleTree – Ted Borgstadt, CEO, TrestleTree is a URAC accredited health transformation organization working to change unhealthy behaviors of employees and their families.   We show measurable and sustainable change regardless of motivation level or severity of condition. Our outcomes have proven lower healthcare costs for employers.
    • ProHealth Physicians – Richard Guerriere, MD, SVP and Chief Medical Officer.  ProHealth Physicians, Inc. is a physician-led medical group with 85 practice locations throughout Connecticut that empowers physicians and advanced clinicians to better serve patients through enhanced care processes in support of improved patient outcomes. ProHealth is part of OptumCare, a leading national information and technology-enabled health services business.
