About this Role
Looking to make a difference? This position drives the implementation of HR programs and strategies as part of the senior management team. HR identifies and analyzes people issues where HR solutions can be implemented in a very diverse workforce.
What you will do
Compensation and Benefits – Lead annual salary, bonus and equity planning processes ensuring highest performers are compensated in- line with their contributions. Conduct benefit alternative analysis and design and implement annual enrollment process.
Employee Relations – Minimize risk to the organization by actively responding to and addressing employee concerns in a timely manner. Conduct complete investigations and make recommendations based on findings and facts. Collaborate with outside counsel as needed to address complex or highly sensitive issues.
Policy Design and Processes – Design and implement new polices and processes to support business requirements. This includes reward and recognition programs as a tool to recognized employee achievement and retention. Provide advice and guidance to the management team relative to policies, procedure, programs and legal requirement of various HR related issues.
Recruitment and Retention – Manage the job posting system to fill positions within the organization. Develop job descriptions to use in recruiting through the web and social media. Partner and negotiate with temp agencies, and other staffing agencies to attract and retain top talent. Conduct interviews, background checks, drug screening and job offers.
Workers’ compensation and OSHA requirements – Pro actively complete accident investigations, fill out required paperwork and submit to WC carriers, follow OSHA standards, conduct OSHA training, maintain 300 log, Dart Rates, and Day’s without recordable injuries. Report to management accident trends or suggest improvements to safety, attend safety meetings and ownership of the Exposure Control Plan.
Training and Development – Develop training programs that are required by law and other training that is needed by the company. Conduct on-boarding and benefits training.
8+ years of broad Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment
B.S. Degree required; Advanced degree in human resources or related field preferred.
Certification in the Human Resources field (SPHR, PHR preferred)
Strong knowledge and application of State and Federal Labor laws
Strong experience working with payroll systems and report writing, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Ability to make employees at all levels feel comfortable
Full time position, 40 hours a week, reporting to the CFO
Analytical with strong project management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective listening skills
English plus Spanish and/or Karen highly desirable
