2016 TRI-STATE SHRM CONFERENCE

“Building a Sustainable HR Legacy”

Monday – Wednesday, May 2 – 4, 2016 In Newport, Rhode Island

The anticipation is building for an incredible Tri-State SHRM Conference! The conference will begin and end with mind-shifting views of how we can build a sustainable HR legacy. The three days in between will be filled with thought-provoking speakers, effective tools and practices to take back and implement in your workplace and the opportunity to network and exchange ideas with HR leaders throughout the tri-state (Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island) area.

The conference is featuring two notables in the world of HR – Kawel LauBach and David Ulrich. Both Dave and Kawel have similar mindsets as to the need for HR’s role to shift yet again in order to deliver meaningful value to organizations.

Kawel LauBach is Chief Human Resource Officer of the Mohegan Sun enterprise headquartered in Connecticut and in 2015 was selected by HRO Today magazine as its Chief Human Resource Officer of the Year. By challenging customary techniques, he has created an ‘edge’ and HR persona that heavily contributes to the organizational strategy while forging a new legacy. One of his unique contributions is his oversight of both HR and customer service as an integrated solution to assure exceptional service in a highly competitive, customer-facing industry… and there’s more. As the Opening Keynote for the 2016 Tri-State SHRM Conference, Kawel will challenge us to start thinking differently about the way we look at HR’s role in today’s world.

David Ulrich is a university professor, author, speaker, management coach and management consultant. He will share with us his perspective that HR needs to focus on “HR from the Outside In” where strategy becomes a window through which HR professionals align their work to forces and stakeholders outside their organization–rising to the level of key leaders and contributors of strategy development. As the Closing Keynote for the 2016 Tri-State SHRM Conference, Dave will inspire and guide HR leaders and professionals to see a new perspective, outcomes and blueprint for HR’s next step in transformation.
